The Sad State of Network Television
Network television is bad and getting worse. For the most part, commercial supported television programming is crude, vulgar, and in short, pornographic. And, like pornography, network television is destructive to the individual, the family, and society.

Television networks are amoral. Their sole purpose is to make money. Attract viewers with salacious and titillating programming and charge advertisers a premium to have access to those viewers. A simple formula that works.

Local Advertisers—The Key to Change
To distribute its programming, networks depend on local television stations (affiliates). The affiliates sell advertising time allotted to them by the network to regional and local companies (local furniture companies, car dealerships, banks, etc.). The affiliates depend on this local advertising to survive.

If local advertisers refuse to advertise because of pressure wrought upon them by local consumers, the local affiliates lose money. If the affiliates can't make it, their network partners lose money too. The networks, out of economic self-interest, are then compelled to change. The simple law of supply and demand. Therefore, the key to change starts at the grassroots local advertiser level, gathers simultaneous momentum in multiple media markets, and reverbates to and at the top of the network boardrooms.

The Network Colossus—An Analogy
Think of a television network as a multi-billion dollar colossus.

The colossus is formidable, seemingly impenetrable, and so large, its shadow covers and darkens the land.

But like the statue of precious metal in the biblical story of King Nebuchadnezzar, the network colossus has feet of iron and clay.

The "clay feet" of the network colossus are local affiliate televison advertisers. Attack the feet with a stone, as in the story of Nebuchadnezzar, and the mighty statue crumbles.

In this case, through economic pressure starting at the local advertiser level and reverberating to the top of the "gold head", the networks will be compelled to change.

You, through our "Action Now" email technology, are the stone.
The CleanTV Action Now Technology
We have developed an email program that allows you to select the names of local and national advertisers from a list and simultaneously send them personalized emails through the simple click of a submit button. Your email identifies:

Instantly send dozens of emails to
advertisers and television stations
with the click of a button.

 — the shows they sponsored;
  the specific offending material in the shows;
  asks them to stop supporting the offensive programming; and
  tells them you will not purchase their products or services as      long as they support the programming.

Local Advertisers Respond—Embarassed to Be Linked to Offensive Programming
The local advertisers take these emails very seriously especially when they are presented with the graphic detail of the shows they sponsored and the concern that the details of their sponsorship will be revealed through the media to their local customer base. Many advertisers will call the station, ask the station to remove their ads
from the offending programs. When this starts to happen simultaneously in multiple media markets, the networks will get the message.

Non-Cooperative Advertisers Targeted for Local Boycott
If an advertiser continues to support offensive advertising, they will be targeted for local and national boycott. On the local level, newspapers are notified of the boycott and CleanTV volunteers will demonstrate at the advertiser's place of business until the advertiser decides to rescind their support of offensive programming.

How to Use CleanTV's Action Now Email Technology.

(1) Select a local station from the navigational menu at the top of each CleanTV web page.

(2) Read through the items on the menu (station overview, program schedule, and daily logs with sponsor listings).

(3) Under the "Send Action Now Emails" menu you have three choices:

        — Send emails to the local station's owners and management;
        Send emails to the station's local advertisers; and
        Send emails to the station's national advertisers.

We would hope that you would choose all three options.

(4) To send email, for example, to local advertisers for a particular station:

       — Click on the local advertiser menu. This will take you to the local advertiser page.
       — Select the advertisers from a list.
       — Type in your name and address and a personal message if you so desire.
       — A preformatted email message will be automatically generated and sent in your name to the            advertisers you selected.

With your help we can be a force in cleaning up network television hitting the stations where it hurts in the pocket book. The approach we present here is powerful and it works. So please take a few minutes and use our Action Now technology. Tell the advertisers and television stations enough is enough! It's time to change!
